Stayed true to the commitment even though Beth and Jim came over to toast Pete's birthday, and we served snacks. It was tempting, but not that difficult and got LOTS OF SUPPORT from Pete.

I really hated being unsuccessful a lot. The measurements might have been a little bit off -- that chicken soup is tasty, but I'm not really confident about what constitutes a serving. I might need to work with that more since I have another 4 servings to cook. Today will be a challenge because Beth and Jim are coming to toaste Pete's birthday, but I have committed to not drinking. I'm going to ask Pete to support me in that, because I feel very vulnerable in this particular situation and can resist anything but temptation.
