The commitment is to accomplish the following Tasks:
1. Give x18 in one Deep Work Stint per day to PhD (i.e. do one PhD x18w per day)
this task is advance batch-able for upto one day
applicable days: monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday
this task cannot be rolled over to the next day under any circumstance without incurring the penalty that goes with the present commitment
reading anything on the Kindle Android app on my PDA does not count in the present Task execept if all the x1's minus the last two x1's of the present task have been executed
Notes applicable to the present commitment:
All times mentioned in the present commitment are in Anywhere on Earth (AOE) time unless otherwise stated.
Penalty clause:
If any of the tasks due on a given applicable date is not accomplished by the end of the considered date, the commitment is to go through the following process within the interval of 3 dates starting at the end of the date on which the task was not accomplished:
buy something for 2000 wons or more
throw this thing in a trash can
You can simply follow the quick text BZ sequence.
Note that if one task is not accomplished, it nullifies having to accomplish all the tasks du on that day. And you pay the penalty for only one task whilst able to leave out on all tasks that day and just take a break..
Note on loopholes:
I assume there are loopholes in all my commitments. When I exploit any loophole in the present commitment, in order for this loophole to be considered a valid reason for not incurring the penalty associated with the present commitment, I must state in digital or physical writing a definition of the loophole that I would like to exploit in the considered instance. For this definition of the considered loophole to be considered valid, the following criteria must hold:
I must end this definition with a period.
I must write considered definition of the considered loophole prior to exploiting the considered loophole.
This definition of the loophole must not cite a bulleting error as a source of exploitation of the exploited loophole.
Thus the process for exploiting a loophole would be as follows:
Set a BZ reminder to update the loophole
write the definition of the loophole
put a period at the end of the definition
exploit the loophole
Note on specificity of clauses:
Since it is mostly impossible for any commitment to be specific enough for the person committing to it to not be able to exploit a loophole in this commitment, the level of generality of the present commitment shall be considered to be of the level that is the same as present level of specificity of the present commitment. (i.e. you can not say "the commitment is not general enough to count all convenience stores in the universe" or that "which multiverse are we talking about here?")
Relaxation period clause:
the number of relaxation periods of any duration allowed for the present stick commitment is zero i.e. the present commitment may not be paused unless the present relaxation clause is modified via the commitment updating process.
The present commitment can be modified by going through the following steps:
1. Initiate a (BZ) reminder (e.g. “update rs journal”)
2. Make necessary updates in the text of the present commitment
3. Write “Updated.” in the journal of the Stickk commitment associated with the present commitment. Changes take effect exactly 24 hours after this updating of the associated Stickk commitment journal. In other words, the notice period is 24 hours.

Deep Work Stint
A Deep Work Stint (abbreviated as DW) is defined as a stint for which the following points hold:
My phone must be continuously turned off for the duration of this stint except if any of the following is true:
someone other than myself specifically asks me to have my phone turned on and this person does so during the time my phone is turned off
There is x2 or less of this stint remaining to be executed
I have sent a message to drgs except “Okay Sir.” and drgs has not responded back yet
When I use my S9 during this stint, I must have switched on the Applock profile “DW”. Following are the additional clauses of Deep Work Stint related to Applock:
while the Applock profile DW is active, I am not allowed to access the apps blocked by this Applock profile
I am allowed to disable this Applock profile during a Deep Work Stint, only when I follow the following process:
write the purpose for disabling the applock profile.
set a timer on any device for the time after which I would like to disable the said applock profile. This timer must be set to go off after the advanced notice period for disabling the Applock DW profile during a Deep Work Stint. This period is the five minutes immediately before the start time of the considered disabling the Applock DW profile.
In order to include or exclude an app from the applock DW profile, the following process must be followed:
initiate a BZ reminder for at least 29 minutes from the time of this initiation with the text telling you to include or exclude that app from the applock profile (e.g. move kakao maps outside dw)
move the concerned app as appropriate into or out of the applock DW profile
Accessing any of the following websites or regions of the internet is considered exception to the rules of a DW stint:
Google Scholar website
Scopus website
All the websites that I can access from the search results of the aforementioned websites
stickk.com
dynalist.io
any website or region of the internet for which I follow the following process during the Deep Work stint during which I would like to visit that region:
write down the web domain of this region or any title this region is recongized by at the moment of doing the said writing.
write the purpose for visiting this region. End this statement with period.
set a timer on any device for the time after which I would like to access the said region of the internet. This timer must be set to go off after the advanced notice period for accessing this region of the internet during a Deep Work Stint. This period is the five minutes immediately before the start time of the considered time window of accessing the considered region of the internet.
Big Day
A Big Day a.k.a. BD can be defined for certain dates inside the journal space of the Stickk commitment associated with the present commitment by writing a journal entry with those dates or the dates at the endpoints of the consecutive dates in the following format:
“Following dates are BDs:
(date)
(date)
…”
The following rules are applicable to these Big Days:
a journal entry that sets Big Day date or Big day dates can not be overridden by another journal entry, except the journal entry including the
following format:
“Following dates are not BDs:
(date)
(date)
…”.
This clause exists to enable us to do a (task)
notice period for setting a Big Day date is 24 hours before the Big Day begins
the Big Day includes all the days considered as Big Days, for example a day before a travel date would also be a Big Day and must be included in the definition of the Big Day date
Pre- and post-BDs can be added only if there are more than two consecutive dates being set as Big Day dates
The journal entry in which I define a Big Day date must also contain the following information:
The tasks which you are allowed to not do on the Big Day date without negatively affecting the streak for that day
In case of less than four consecutive Big Days, the dates by which I must make up the tasks which are forgone on those Big Days. The days on which I must do the make-up sessions mentioned in the last sentence must be mentioned inside the same journal entry in the
following format:
“I shall make-up (task) for the BDs on the following dates:
(date)
(date)
….”.
Here's the template to use. Just fill the example below and paste it as a journal entry.
