Robbybox commits to:
taking at least 15 DEDICATED minutes every evening before bed to put the house in order. In particular, pick up clothes from the floor, get all dirty dishes into the dish washer, and WIPE any CRUD off kitchen surfaces. There's no need to live like an animal.

Had a strange experience recently... came back from a weekend visit at my Mum's house (where things are perfectly lovely and neat all the time) and experienced a few days of Nirvana in my own space. What I mean is that I was able without any perceptible effort to feel totally in control of an aesthetically pleasing and functional household. The struggle was gone, the goal felt achieved. From day to day the house stayed nice without any pain or cost! There was a strange feeling of having nothing left to DO. As a matter of fact, I felt a sort of emptiness!!! As though now that the challenge was met I had lost a sort of hobby, and I'd have to find other things to care about. Too funny, right??? Of course that's the GOAL isn't it. And of course I SHOULD be spending my care on more elevated things than domestic stability. It's good to be prepared for the possibility that if I ever get there for the long haul, it might take some getting used to. Probably what happened was that I brought home heightened habits of tidiness from my stay which made the upkeep really simple for a few days. It's also notable that I DIDN't feel any shame or dissatisfaction with my own house's somewhat less magnificent degree of spic-and-spannitude. Which felt nice and healthy. |

| missed my REPORT again, (must figure out what to do about that), but the work has been good and I've stuck to my guns very successfully. Thinking of adding stakes and a recipient of stakes to this goal...have a feeling it would be successful. | |
