I've finally caught up to you. But I guarantee that you are having an easier time doing this. once you hit 40, your body starts telling you to "go to hell." |

Tim, I'll be curious to get your read on those lab tests I sent. The PA who called and interpreted them for me gave me extremely cursory feedback, focusing mainly on the fact that one of the cholesterol levels was high. My conversation with her did not enhance my motivation at all. Will be curious to get your take. |

I feel great about having lost the weight. I'm happy about this accomplishment and would recommend to anyone that they do it (not to try it, but actually commit to it and do it). I think it's just a better way to eat. Sugar and grains were clearly the culprit in my extra weight. It's been easier than expected, over time, to cut them out. I still have plenty of treats -- I just don't eat that stuff every day like I used to.
Reading about nutrition has been a crucial aspect of keeping up motivation. I'm now halfway through Perfect Health Diet and am shifting what I eat to be in line with that rather than primal blueprint. However, I think primal blueprint wat the perfect book for an initial dose of motivation.
All of this said, I can't say I feel super energized or anything. The fact that I feel good but not great is due to stress and ongoing trouble getting good sleep and making time for intense workouts on a regular enough basis.
Also, I'm still too fat even though I'm no longer too heavy. Although I exercise regularly, I don't do as much as I could. It may also just be that I'm biologically predisposed to be somewhat fat and only an extreme amount of exercise would ever change that.
Overall, I think I'm healthier and am very glad for this change. |
