I realized that there was a fundamental flaw in my method of goal setting: I'm used to setting up really big goals with no real plans as to how I am going to achieve them. Even though I feel like the plan is a good one, usually the case is that it's not well thought out AT ALL. For instance, one of the big issues with this goal was understanding that I needed to have the website & offer ready to start making money which would take at least a week. Even then, it'd take me a while to get sales going and so on and so forth. However, instead of actually planning out the entire month, I created the goal on a whim. Learnings for the next stick challenges I set: 1) Set a goal which is just above my current station. For instance, my first goal should have been to land my first paying client. 2) Plan out exactly how much work that would take, check out the timelines , and double it because I tend to underestimate my timelines. 3) Stay REAL. $1k in real money is way superior to $25k in dreams. Let's see if I'm able to make it happen the next time around. My goal is to set challenges like these until I make this $25k/month real. |
