Day #6: This are some thoughts about the current book I'm reading.
"The Hard Thing About Hard Things" by Ben Horowitz.

1. "Look for a market of one. You only need one investor to say yes, so it's best to ignore the other 30 who say 'no'". (pg. 20) What I like about this: we spend too much time worried about those who don't care about what we have to give, so we end up losing ourselves. Keep the trust of those who gave it to you, they are the one who matter the most.

2. "(...) the best thing about startups? (...) You only ever experience two emotions: euphoria and terror. And I find that lack of sleep enhances them both". (pg. 21) And there's nothing else to say. Those are my feelings every time I start something new.

3. Ben at a hard time asks himself "What's the worst thing that could happen?" (pg. 31) He lists those things and then asks himself another question that I'll rephrase "What would I do if the most important thing in that list happens?" And, with the answer to that question, he asks the actual important question that I'll rephrase "Is there a way to do the second answer without the first one happening?" I think this is an amazing approach to those moments in life when we feel with our hand tied.

4. "Can't be scared to fail in search of perfection" (pg. 39) which is actually a song called "On To the Next One" by Jay Z. The author write pieces of his favorite songs at the beginning of several chapters. Practice makes perfect, and practice means trial and error.

5. "(...) finding out what they don't expect, but want". (pg. 42) it's what he calls "the exciting value" and I think it's the point of view we need to look at when innovating and creating a product/service.

6. "Sixty Days To Live" (pg. 41) has been my favorite subtitle (story) so far.

7. When his company was trying to sell its product to EDS, they got a 60 days deadline and an exciting value to create. They had no time to get stuck in small hesitations because these lead to big delays. So he mentions a 24 hour period allowed to solve these hesitations. Lately, I've been going through my whole life and getting valuable lessons of my past, and definitely these one was one. Less hesitation would've saved me tons of painful situation and bad decisions.

8. “What Are We Not Doing?” (pg. 51) it’s the question we need to ask ourselves in order to improve and make great and new things. This are “the things you should actually be focused on” (pg. 51) and it was actually, the question I made myself when I was looking for getting new habits like this one.

Day #3: I figured out I need more than 40 min to finish the book in a month, because I'm a slow reader XD. I'll be reading 10 pages instead in order to accomplish my goal :)
