Friday of Surfing Surprises Star this Commitment

wrkinprogrss commits to:
waiting until after my 6:00pm appointment before I do any recreational reading or any audiobook listening except Joy Diet, today.

I will also check whether I need to do more laundry before tomorrow.

If today's mail delivery doesn't include the authorization forms from my tax preparer, I will call or email her, today, to ask when to expect them.

If I need a break from job or house-&-logistics work, I can do stickk reading &/or commenting with Aase, Qi Gong, more

Joy Diet note-taking, journaling, 6-minute rest breaks, a little singing, or brief cartooning or haiku-writing experiments.

I will allow myself to listen to music at any time, but if I use the mp3 player before my 6:00pm appointment, it will only be for Joy Diet note-taking.
No more reports due

Ah, good to know, thanks! I know of Louise Hay (and have one of her books that I haven't looked at recently), but I didn't know she had audio available. Must investigate!

Another audio suggestion that fits well with "telling you you did well today" would be just about anything by Louise Hay. I have a CD with "What I Believe" and "Deep Relaxation" by her and while I'm not on board with everything she says :) , they are very soothing and comforting, and help me believe I am doing the best I can and there will be more possibilities tomorrow.

That's very interesting re having an appointment with a friendly, soothing voice! I like my bed pretty well--the problem is convincing myself that I'm willing to be done with one day and willing to face the next. Maybe I need a friendly, soothing voice telling me that I did well, today, and that I'll do even better with tomorrow's possibilities! Hm. I could make myself a recording like that. Wonder if I'd believe my own voice telling me, though... Relaxing scents? Never occurred to me. Thanks for the ideas! (And I now think of you when I'm naming my daily goals--I'm so glad you enjoy them!)

Then of course there are the old standbys of some simple re-decorating, like decluttering/simplifying the bedroom/sleeping space (including walls), some new bedlinens, relaxing scents... I have to say I've always loved my bed (aka refuge) with a deep & abiding passion *grin* so never needed any help to get into it - actually sleeping restfully is a different matter, of course. :)
