Continuing Qi Gong Practice Star this Commitment

wrkinprogrss commits to:
doing at least 10 minutes of Qi Gong on at least 4 different days, this week. Anything Scott has taught me about Qi Gong counts, including warm-ups and cool-downs, but it needs to be timed and there needs to be at least 10 minutes of concentrated Qi Gong exercising, not 5 min. here and 5 min. there.

Did about 15 minutes of Qi Gong on the 4th, and an hour-plus of class on the 5th. Definitely success for this week! Good questions--I think that this good "streak" has been possible for me because I set the bar so low for the amount of time, and because I feel the benefits immediately. Even if it's midnight, I can tell myself, "Come on, it's only 10 minutes--I'll feel better if I do it" and know that it's true. I am wondering whether to set my next Qi Gong goal at this level (since it works so well), maybe switching some of the exercises, or maybe try increasing the minimum time just a little? Hm. 15 minutes seems a lot longer than 10 minutes, in my head. Your thoughts about this would be welcome, from a trainer's perspective! Thanks!

Ha! Interesting that it may be different for you. Of course it could be! So much for Ass-umptions. :) And well done for another day of practice! That's a real "streak" you have going. Any thoughts on why you've been able to practice every day lately? Looking forward, what might help/hinder you in sustaining this habit?

Did 20 minutes or so of Qi Gong late last night. Again, I went through Scholar Opens the Scroll and then did a little bit of Monkey King Stands on One Leg. Had more trouble balancing than last time, so late hour may be a factor for me. Interesting that you feel such a connection between balance and your physical/emotional state -- I haven't really noticed that, but it might also be true for me. Hm.

Very cool about having better balance today! From my limited experience (mainly with yoga), balance is one of those things that is so *obviously* - and at the same time, mysteriously - connected with one's current mood/energy/whathaveyou. The movie was moderately entertaining but far from anything special, so no great loss if you give it a miss.
