Real-World Experiment Day #33
Star this Commitment
wrkinprogrss commits to:
concentrate on real-world concerns and issues except for two periods, today: (a) between 6:30pm and 7:00pm and (b) after dance class but before 11:15pm. I will not consume fiction or audio-books except in those time periods, and then only if I have put in at least 2 hours on the config project for work and taken one 15-minute Positivity break. I will set an alarm for the 7:00pm cutoff. I will not circumvent LeechBlock or Chronager controls.
I also commit to trying to notice any feelings or situations that immediately precede any cravings for escape into fiction, at any time when those may occur, and will offer myself a reward of 5 minutes of luxurious stretching if I make a note of any. I commit to ONLY putting laundry on drying racks and preparing for bed (a little journaling in bed can be part of that) between 11:15pm and midnight, and I commit to being in bed with the lights out by midnight.

| I did OK on this goal until 11:15pm, but I didn't start prep for bed, then, or turn off my audio-book right away (both fic and non-fic, as I recall), and I wasn't in bed with the lights out until about 20 minutes after midnight. I'd have to call that too much of a digression to be a success, but, as failures go, it's a pretty good one. I did stick to my fiction limits until 11:15pm, and I did put in the designated 2 hours of project time, and I did take a Positivity break. So, not too bad, after all. | |
