This week was amazing just from doing no caffeine, HOP+yoga, and no pmo. I did deep work the first few days but was scattered after mixing in music and podcasts. It started with podcasts after 5pm to relax from the day and the use just kept going up and up. It was especially difficult to detach from entertainment/distraction after playing it in the morning. Going forward I want to hold out for as long as I can on distractions and continue to use no caffeine. I got so much work done over the past week and was so much clearer in thought. When I was working I thought about things from a much deeper level and multiple perspectives, instead of a caffeinated mad dash to check it off the list as soon as possible. Sleep was easier, I had much less anxiety, I was able to make thought-out decisions and many steps toward improving self-esteem. Urges to do things impulsive (like use nicotine) or engage in hookups went almost to zero. I also didn't feel as big of an energy barrier to starting new projects. Next week I will try to move off youtube/podcasts/distractions in the morning, at least before 2pm and see how that changes things. Part of the problem with coffee is that it gives you a good feeling and then after you want to continue chasing that good feeling. Somehow this leads to an aversion to taking on things that seem difficult. |

Was frustrated after Altitude talk yesterday and how much of a dud it was. Got a burrito and watched kill tony while I ate burrito. Finished paper revisions and submitted. Internet surfed from 7-9 since i told myself after 5pm I can do whatever I want. Felt bad after and blocked YT on my work computer. Go great sleep again. Today I will finish code for skull stripping +linear registering on mac, meet denise at INC to clear out cabinet, finish design of emded fiducials in frame. |

Yesterday harvested gels, finished fMRI analysis, results looked poor so did not make a figure, scheduled final visits with C016 and C013, worked on fidicual marker embedded in frame, got drinks with atlas. It is amazing how different I feel without caffeine. I have also been doing yoga/exercise regularly but the main difference is that stress levels are down about 50%. I am dealing with problems much more directly and see straightforward paths to moving forward. It is nice to be getting my memory/clarity/self-esteem back. I have been able to focus on tasks for longer and think creatively without caffine. Today I will remove the last metal shielding from the transducers, consult with machine shop guys, design the embedded fiducials in the frame, work on NN code or fMRI figure, go to Valuating Startup talk at altitude. Finish code for skull stripping +linear registering. Need to check if there is a relationship between anatomical fiducials and the position of SCC so I can automatically place transducers to this point. |

I am sleeping really well and going to bed easier without caffeine. Also I have been able to get work done in a clear, step by step way. It is hard though to resist temptation to go on youtube or spotify in the morning/ during the day. Today I will -harvest gels, -finish fMRI analysis -make figure for chronic pain paper showing two targets activated&sham -scheduale next visit with C016 and C013, - get drinks with Atlas at 7 |
