Helen de la Maza

Helen has been working and playing in the field of education for almost 15 years. As an environmental educator she has written and taught curricula for K – 12 students, trained adults on instructional strategies for teaching outdoors, and created small explosions in middle school science classrooms. Helen attended school for 27 years (but who’s counting?) and continues to take online classes ‘for fun.’ Those 27 years of education resulted in a double BA in Biological Sciences and Comparative Literature, MS in Wildlife Science, MA in Curriculum and Instruction, and a few California teaching credentials. Helen proudly stuck the bumper sticker, “Tree Hugger” on her 12-year old Subaru this year, which has almost 200,000 miles on it.
